Short and without varnish. Where something does not work yet, it says so.
- Do I need an account?
No. There is no sign-up and no password. You write your letter, get two links, and that is it.
- What is the difference between the two links?
One you send out: it shows the sealed envelope and gives nothing away, not even in a WhatsApp preview.
The other you keep. Only that one opens the reaction photos later. It carries your personal key after the hash sign.
- Can you see the photos people send me?
No. Every photo is encrypted on the sender’s device before it is uploaded. What we hold is ciphertext.
The key that opens it is created in your browser and never reaches our server. We cannot look at the pictures — not even if someone asks us to.
- What happens if I lose my link?
Then the photos are unreadable for good. For you and for us.
That is not an oversight; it is the condition for us not being able to see them. We hold no copy of the key and cannot replace it. Save the link as soon as you get it.
- Do I have to enter the long link every time?
No. The first time you open it, your key is stored encrypted in your browser. After that you reach your photos on the same device without the long part.
Clear your browser data and you need the full link again. On another device you need it in any case.
- How long are the photos kept?
90 days, then they are deleted automatically — from the database and from file storage.
Anyone who sent a photo can also withdraw it themselves at any time, as long as they open the same page on the same device.
- The camera will not open when I follow the link in WhatsApp.
Some in-app browsers do not release the camera. Open the page in Safari or Chrome instead and it works.
We show a notice in that case rather than a button that does nothing. The reveal itself — the envelope and the letter — works in the in-app browser too.
- Which languages does RevealPost support?
German and English. The language lives in the reveal itself: create it in English and your guests see an English page.
Spanish is prepared but not usable yet.
- What does it cost?
Nothing at the moment. RevealPost has not launched publicly; there is no payment and no advertising.
- Which occasions are available?
Today only gender reveal, in one style: the envelope. Engagement, wedding and further styles are planned but not built — and we will write them down when they exist.
